Detailed Description: Trebević MTB Adrenaline
This Trebević MTB route starts at the Pino Nature Hotel on Trebević, a spot that is easy to reach by car and has safe parking. Right from the start, the adrenaline kicks in.
1. Olympic Descent: The Bobsled Track
A short asphalt climb brings you to the start of the Olympic bobsled track. This is where the adventure begins! Riding the concrete channel, with its banked turns and curves where sleds once hurtled along at over 100 km/h, is an unforgettable experience. After the bobsled track, we drop through the narrow, steep streets of the Jarčedoli neighborhood, enjoying the panorama of Sarajevo.
2. History on Wheels: The Ćiro Railway
The descent takes us to the route of the old narrow-gauge Sarajevo-Pale railway, known as the "Ćiro Railway". This is the most beautiful and relaxing part of the ride. You roll for about 10 km on quality gravel ("gravel heaven") with a gentle gradient. The trail leads through beautiful canyons and, most importantly, through several dark tunnels.
3. The Return: Radonjići and Trijangla
The Ćiro takes us all the way to Pale. Just before the old railway station, at the very exit of the trail, we turn right. This is where the "serious" part of the job begins: strong gravel climbs.
On this climb we come across a drinking fountain (Radonjići), which is key for refreshment because there are no more water sources until the end of the route. The ride continues through the picturesque village of Radonjići and comes out on the asphalt road to Jahorina. An asphalt climb brings us to the Trijangla location (where there are no cafés or restaurants), and then over Jasike we gently close the loop back to the Pino Hotel.

"The bobsled track is something you have to experience at least once! Watch out for pedestrians in the tunnels on weekends. The return from Pale is physically demanding, but the asphalt from Trijangla to Pino feels like a reward."
🗺 Map and Navigation
Because of the tunnels and the tangled streets in Jarčedoli, we recommend GPX navigation for this Trebević MTB route.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I need any special equipment?
👉 Besides standard MTB gear (helmet), a light is mandatory (front light) for this route because you ride through unlit tunnels.
Where can I find water on the trail?
👉 You can fill up at the start (Pino) and at the fountain near the village of Radonjići (during the climb from Pale). Note: There is no water or restaurant at Trijangla, so plan your supplies in advance!
Is the bobsled track difficult to ride?
👉 The bobsled track is technically simple (concrete), but the banking in the turns can be challenging. Ride at your own pace and watch out for walkers.
