About the trail

Katera Trail: a blue flow trail at Bike Park Evolution

Katera Trail is the first downhill trail in East Sarajevo and one of the best-known trails at Bike Park Evolution. It is 1.5 km long with 120 metres of descent. The trail was built by volunteers at the end of 2021 and has been part of an official cooperation between BK MTB Evolution and the Municipality of Istočna Ilidža since 2023.

Katera Trail at a glance

  • Length 1.5 km, descent 120 m, an average run takes about 6 minutes.
  • Difficulty: blue, exposure: normal; the trail is family friendly.
  • Features: jumps (with a chicken line option) and drops on a forest singletrack.
  • E-bikes and dogs are allowed.
  • Recommended gear: MTB helmet, gloves and knee pads.

Katera Trail is a flow/enduro singletrack through the forest with a clearly marked line. The upper section starts at Gornje Mladice and suits beginner and intermediate riders, with three jumps that have a chicken line. Katera is also often used as a transfer to climb to the top of the park, and it continues into Evocoin Trail, a more demanding section for experienced riders. It is blue on the ITRS scale. See the park's other trails on the MTB trails at Bike Park Evolution page.

Key sections to master

01

Upper section: Gornje Mladice – Krešnice

Ideal for beginner and intermediate riders. A mix of flow and enduro elements with narrow passages. Often used as a transfer for the climb.

02

Jumps and drops

The three jumps in the upper section have a chicken line, so you can bypass them until you know the trail. Check the landing on your first run.

03

Evocoin Trail (continuation)

After the gravel road crossing the trail gets more demanding: big steeps, a rock garden and jumps you cannot bypass. Intended for experienced riders.

Safety note

The Evocoin section has steeps and jumps you cannot bypass. If you are unsure of your experience, ride only the upper section and walk the line first.
