Bike suspension service: checking air chamber pressure during a minor service

01

Minor (basic) bike suspension service

Recommended every 50–100 hours of riding, between major services. We check air chamber pressure, clean the outside of the fork and shock, visually inspect the seals and bushings, lubricate the sliding surfaces and adjust SAG, rebound and damping.

Minor service

Bike fork service: full service with oil and seal replacement

02

Major fork service

Recommended once a year or after 100–200 hours of riding. The fork is fully disassembled and professionally cleaned, the damper oil, seals, O-rings and sliding elements are replaced, followed by deep lubrication and a final test under load.

Major service

Don't put off a major service

Over time, water, dust and mud work their way into the system and damage the sliding surfaces, seals and oil chambers. If you ride in mud and wet conditions, you'll need service more often.

Bike shock service: rear coil shock with oil change

03

Rear shock service

The shock is disassembled and cleaned, the oil and seals are replaced, and setup is done for your weight and riding style. Finally, it's tested through its full travel.

Shock

Note

Rear shock service also includes a nitrogen charge, if needed.

Bike suspension service: oil leak as a sign the fork needs servicing

04

Signs your bike needs a suspension service

It's time for service if the fork rebounds too slowly or too quickly, has reduced travel, makes strange noises or feels "harsh". Intervals also depend on manufacturer recommendations, for example Fox and RockShox.

Signs

Don't delay service

Oil leaks and air loss don't go away on their own. The longer you ride with suspension like that, the greater the risk of a more expensive failure.

Bike suspension service: extra work, lockout and coil fork service

05

Extra work

Coil fork service (spring replacement, lubrication), lockout repair and adjustment, oil and air leak diagnostics, coil-to-air fork conversion and race suspension setup.

Extras

Bike suspension service: MTB and gravel bike with a fork

06

Who suspension service is for

For MTB riders on technical trails, gravel riders on long tours, racers and anyone who wants to avoid costly repairs. We service Fox, RockShox, Suntour, Manitou and other brands. For specific models, contact us.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about suspension service

How often should suspension be serviced?

A minor bike suspension service is recommended every 50–100 hours of riding, and a major one every 100–200 hours or once a year. If you ride in mud, water and dust, you'll need service more often.

What are the signs a fork needs service?

If your fork leaks oil, loses air, rebounds too slowly or too quickly, has reduced travel, makes strange noises or feels "harsh", it's time for service.

How long does a suspension service take?

Usually 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the fork or shock model and the work required.

Do you service rear shocks?

Yes. Bike suspension service costs 80 KM. If parts or extra work are needed, you get an estimate before work begins. Info and appointments: +387 66 902 418.

How much does suspension service cost?

The price depends on the fork or shock model and on what needs replacing. Call or message +387 66 902 418 and you'll get an estimate before work begins.

Do I need to book an appointment?

We recommend it. You can book by phone (+387 66 902 418), Viber, WhatsApp or through the booking form.

Do you service all brands?

We service most popular brands, including Fox, RockShox, Suntour and Manitou. For specific models, contact us.

What do SAG, rebound and damping mean?

SAG shows how much the suspension compresses under your weight while you sit still on the bike. Rebound determines how quickly the fork or shock returns after an impact, and damping controls the movement through the travel. Setting all three is part of a minor MTB suspension maintenance service.

Why do water, dust and mud damage suspension?

Over time they get into the system and damage the sliding surfaces, seals and oil chambers. That's why service is needed more often if you ride in mud, water and dust.

Do you service coil forks?

Yes. Coil fork service includes spring replacement and lubrication, and we also do coil-to-air fork conversions.
