When people ask me about the MTB Evolution story, I always smile, because it all began with pure love for mountain biking and nature. I spent hours exploring trails, forests, peaks and valleys, often alone but never lonely, because every turn of the pedals brought peace, challenge and a feeling of freedom. Today, MTB Evolution is not just an idea on paper. It is a living organism that keeps growing and is changing the cycling scene in the region.
In short:
- MTB Evolution has grown from a local group of enthusiasts into a serious community where every member contributes.
- A strong move into the EMTB class and an upgraded workshop with the latest Bosch Diagnostic Tool 3 system.
- Bike Park Evolution is recording record numbers of visits, with new trails being built all the time.
- Our members have taken part in large numbers at regional MTB events and races.

A Vision From the Forest and the First Real Steps
In the very beginning, we were just an informal group of enthusiasts. We rode together, shared tips and helped each other with gear. There was no budget and no big plan, only huge passion and a wish to create something of our own. The real turning point came when Vekoslav Novčić Vjeko joined the story. His energy and experience brought seriousness to our movement, and you can read more about the club president on his own page.
What started as a weekend ride has grown into a structured mountain bike club. Our membership is growing fast, and the best part is that every member feels like part of the team and actively contributes, whether through riding, trail work days or logistics.

Expansion and the EMTB Revolution
As technology moved forward, so did we. Entering the EMTB (electric mountain biking) class was a natural step in our story. The e-bike revolution has allowed many riders to conquer climbs they once thought impossible and to explore deeper parts of the mountains.
To keep up with this trend at the highest technical level, our Bike Service is equipped with the latest Bosch Diagnostic Tool 3 system for advanced analysis of official Bosch eBike systems. Whether you need a software update, a battery capacity check or a fix for complex motor errors, our Small Workshop has become the main hub for e-bike riders.
Bike Park Evolution and Mass Participation
The idea of our own playground on Ilinjača hill is now a tangible reality. Bike Park Evolution has become busier and better groomed. Thanks to the community's effort, trails like Deep Forest and Katera Trail are in perfect shape, drawing riders from the whole region to this bike park in East Sarajevo.
Beyond local rides, what makes me especially proud is how many of our members take part in events, races and marathons across the Balkans. The MTB Evolution jersey is now a familiar sight on the trails, and our crew is known for fair play, team spirit and great energy.

Where Next?
Our mission continues. We are planning new routes, educational content through our Small Workshop (Blog Hub), and further promotion of a healthy, active lifestyle. If you have ever wanted to join a community that lives for the trail, nature and good tech, the door is open to you.

The MTB Evolution Story and What the Club Does Today
When I look back at the story so far, what pleases me most is that the project did not stop at the trails. Today it covers several connected parts that complement each other.
- Club and community: riders of all ages who train together, travel to marathons and races, and help each other.
- Bike Park Evolution: trails built and maintained by volunteers, from easy to demanding.
- Bike service: a workshop with diagnostics for e-bikes and regular bikes.
- Cycling school: work with young riders on technique, safety and fun, through our cycling school.
Why I Believe in This Project
Why has it lasted? The answer is simple: cycling brings people together. The MTB Evolution story keeps growing the way it started, step by step, with people who love the trail. In short, it comes from a love of riding, a lot of volunteer work and the support of the community. If you want to see for yourself, come ride at Bike Park Evolution or visit the bike service.
